It is a common sight that people get excited, when their birthday month arrives. They start planning from the very first about celebrating it in a grand way. Shopping, lounge booking, preparing guests lists can be a part of their preparations as well, especially if the person is a big celebrity. A lavish party is usually thrown for close family members and friends. However, there is one such person in the film industry, who does not at all get excited about his birthday. He is none other than the very talented film producer of Indian cinema, Sajid Nadiadwala.

Celebs at Sajid Nadiadwala's Birthday bash

Sajid says that he is not a party person. However, his family as well as friends does not keep away from planning surprises for him every year on his birthday. The skilled producer feels that birthdays should be made special by doing something constructive on that day. He believes in rather polishing his skills over Indian cinema than celebrating his birthday. According to Sajid Nadiadwala, it is the best day to sit down and think about a new film or story that can be converted into a film that will entertain his audiences. This is how he can make up for his part of contribution to Bollywood and his profession.

Partying on his own birthday might not be one of his favorite things to do, but Sajid never fails to celebrate his sons’ birthdays with joy and pomp. The popular film celebrity feels that his sons Subhan Nadiawala and Sufyan Nadiadwala are responsible for making him a proud father and giving him immense happiness. This is the reason that he loves to rejoice on their birthdays.

Many would already know by now that Sajid Nadiadwala is not a self centered person. He likes to live for others, especially his wife, sons, mother, sister, and close friends. I am sure his wife Wardha, their two sons, and Sajid’s mother Shafaqat are the lucky ones to have a person like him in their lives!

Jacqueline Fernandez, the Sri Lankan beauty queen, successfully nailed her role in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 2 and Tips Music Film’s Race 2 recently. Her character was really powerful in Race 2 opposite John Abraham that made the lady earn her part of glory. Impressed by the actor’s work and dedication, the ace film producer of Indian cinema, Sajid Nadiadwala roped her in for his directorial debut ‘Kick’. Being confused between Deepika Padukone and Jacqueline Fernandez, the director turned producer finally gave a nod for Jacqueline because he wanted a fresh pair in this special film.

‘Kick’ is an action packed movie, for which the leading lady has done a lot of hard work to get it right. Matching up to Salman Khan surely has to be a tough job and she has managed to do it in ‘Kick’. The super glamorous girl otherwise, has gone completely de-glam in Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ only to suit the role. She has also learnt Urdu to polish her skills in speaking the language fluently, which was very necessary for her role. We all know, a span of one month is not enough to get a good hold of this difficult language. Not only this, Jacqueline has also put on eight kilos of weight that was something her character demanded for.

So much contribution has been made by the beautiful actress for ‘Kick’. There is no doubt about Sajid Nadiadwala being impressed by her efficiency and work. In addition, Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Randeep Hooda make for a totally new combination that promises to win hearts. A well known super star like Salman, a tough actor like Randeep, and a hardworking actress like Jacqueline seem to take the producer cum director cum writer’s film to a new level.

The film finally has been locked to release on Eid next year, which has been a lucky day for the release of Salman Khan starrer movies so far. Hope the luck works next year too!

Several films are being shot across various locations in India, which are being produced under the banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. This has made the film producer Sajid Nadiadwala very busy with multiple shoot schedules. Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Highway’, which he is presenting, was being filmed in the northern states of India. ‘2 States’, which is being co-produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, was being shot in IIM Gujarat. Also, ‘Heropanti’, through which Sajid is launching the newcomer Tiger Shroff, is being filmed in Patiala. ‘Kick’, the talented producer’s directorial debut has now been relocated to Karjat, near Mumbai. His untitled political thriller with Saif Ali Khan and Kabir Khan is said to go on floor this October in Lebanon.

With movies being shot extensively in the northern and western regions of India as well as outside it, Sajid seems to be keeping really occupied. It was not really possible to volunteer all these shoots personally and therefore, he is handling everything from Mumbai itself. He is grateful to his wonderful and efficient team, on which he can rely without getting worried. They are all doing their work with much dedication, even without Sajid Nadiadwala accompanying them throughout the shoot. The ace producer, who has now turned director, is managing the smallest of issues from his Mumbai office.

Rushing to various locations, where his films are being made in diverse parts of India would have made Sajid completely stressed out. Also, under such circumstances, he would have not been able to concentrate on his projects with ease. By handling things from Mumbai itself, Sajid Nadiadwala can have a better view of every movie conveniently. He is kept up to date about his teams’ moves, which helps him to stay personally involved with the making of each film.

This is how, the skilled producer cum director is managing his multiple film projects being shot across different locations through Mumbai!

One of the upcoming movies of famous Indian film producer Sajid Nadiadwala is a political thriller, which shows the counter-terror story of the post 26-11 terrorist attack situation. The film is yet to be titled and is being directed by Kabir Khan with Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead. Both Kabir and Saif have done much research on the characters and the story, to able to showcase the movie right. The shoot of the film is said to start on 18th October with the first schedule of approximately 15-18 days to be shot in the conflict ridden Syria-Lebanon border. Yes, conflict ridden because the US president Barack Obama has sent out a warning to the besieged Bashar al-Assad regime of Syria recently.

This has raised eyebrows of many in Bollywood, who are a part of the shoot of Sajid and Kabir’s upcoming film including the two. With these problems taking over Syria, the safety of the cast as well as the crew shooting at the location is going to be hampered. “If US planes fly towards Syria, they will have to go over Lebanon. This puts Katrina, Saif and others in a potential war zone”, said a source in order to describe the hazardous conditions in Syria and Lebanon. This has put the producer Sajid Nadiadwala as well as director Kabir Khan in a tricky phase. However, they have decided to continue with the planned schedule of the shoot, despite of such risky situations. Without letting himself down, Sajid is ready to shed an extra Rs. 20 Lac for a well equipped and enhanced security team, who will accompany the crew to the shoot locations.

Such dedication by Sajid Nadiadwala and his crew seems to turn the impossible into possible with ease. For now, the team comprising of Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif and other members will first fly to Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, where a few scenes will be filmed followed by heading to the border!

A project, which has been a big challenge to the writer, director, actors, as well as the film maker, surely possesses the capabilities of standing out amongst others. ‘Highway’ is one such film, which has been written, produced, and directed by the extremely creative director Imtiaz Ali. The movie will release on 13th December, 2013 and will be presented by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. worldwide.

HIghway 1

‘Highway’ is a road film that shows the journey of the lead pair through the northern states of India in a truck. These two characters are shown to be absolutely opposite to each other. Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda are playing the leads in this movie. Alia was overheard saying that the film is a challenging opportunity that she managed to get through. The difficulty level has been raised by shooting ‘Highway’ in different locations in 6 states of the country. For the role, Alia has also gone completely de-glam after playing the very stylish and glamorous role in ‘Student of The Year’. This seems to have been really tough for the actually fashionable teenager. Here she has been shown as a simple Kashmiri girl, Veera Tripathi who falls in love with Mahabir Bhati (Randeep Hooda).

Each challenge behind making the film was very well accepted by Sajid Nadiadwala, Imtiaz Ali, Randeep Hooda, Alia Bhatt, and the rest of the crew. This has helped them wrap up the shoot already and the movie is in its post production stage. The story of this film has remained with Imtiaz for 15 years, thereby making it special for the director. He adds to this by saying that a talented and famous producer like Sajid Nadiadwala agreed to lend a helping hand for ‘Highway’, which has already made it a huge.

Expectations have been going high as the movie is nearing its release date because the story seems to be uncommon and fresh by what we have heard about the film by far!

Sajid Nadiadwala is not a star obsessed film producer, who only works with big tinsel town celebrities. He is a cheerful and generous man, who loves to work with the new talents in the industry. He emits the same amount of energy and enthusiasm that any new comer can. Being a star personality himself, the Indian film maker does not fill himself with pride for the same. The newbie actors and directors he launches go on to becoming the big names of the Indian cinema.

So, what happens when he works with an already famous actor, actress, or director? The combined efforts of the two or more biggies deliver the best results. When Sajid Nadiadwala works with another star of his level, they together give hits to the audiences.

Currently Sajid is busy working with top notch people of the industry like Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali, and Sabbir Khan. This signals the start of several Bollywood blockbusters already making their way to the cinema. With upcoming films like ‘Kick’ starring Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Randeep Hooda; ‘Highway’ starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda; ‘Heropanti’ starring debutant Tiger Shroff; ‘2 States’ starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt; as well as two untitled films with Saif and Ranbir, Sajid Nadiadwala seems to break all the records.

Let us take it back to the time, when Sajid had made films like ‘Judwaa’, ‘Waqt Hamara Hai’, ‘Jeet’, ‘Kambakht Ishq’, ‘Jaan-e-man’, ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Housefull’, and ‘Housefull 2’. These movies were some of the best pieces of work in that time, all with actors who are now renowned people in the film industry.

Some of these have already achieved the needed success, while others have already taken the first step by working with the talented producer cum writer cum director. Stars or not, big celebrities or small supporting actors, anybody who will work with Sajid Nadiadwala has to reach the top!

With already a budget of Rs. 150 crores, Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ starring Salman Khan, looks a little over the normal budget. This means the film will have a lavish and exclusive backdrop that will be incomparable to his other movies. Obviously, what do we expect from a movie being shot in Glasgow located in London? London is a rich city of the United Kingdom with a magnificent locale and breathtaking destinations. With such a luxurious routine scheduled in London for the shoot of ‘Kick’, 150 crore is no big deal for this ace producer. After all, a huge amount needs to be shed for achieving something so regal in return.

Except for a major piece from the film to be shot in Glasgow, which needs Salman Khan extensively, the shoot has been completed. However, according to a source, the latest news is that Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ will be shot in India as well. This was a recent addition as this talented producer, who is also directing the movie wishes to show some extraordinary destinations of the north in his envisioned directorial debut. Again, as Salman Khan does not wish to move to Delhi for the shoot, the famous places of the north will be recreated in Karjat near Mumbai. The set will be a replica of the popular north Indian destinations like Connaught place, Paharganj, and Karol Baug areas. Real autos, buses, and other local bodies will be brought to the set for the main shoot.

Recreating Delhi in Karjat is going to cost Sajid Nadiadwala an enormous amount of Rs. 15 crore.  Whether, this is an additional Rs. 15 crore to the already existing budget of Rs. 150 crore or will be easily managed within the same budget is still not clear. However, if it is an extra cost, then ‘Kick’ is surely turning too pricey for Sajid. Nevertheless, most probably this is not going to affect the skilled producer, who has turned director with this film because he knows how to increase the business of his movies rather than cutting down on the expenses!
