Of late, we have been seeing a lot of Kashmir in many of the films that have released in the last year. Kashmir seems to have become a dream location for shooting for several film makers. The reason might be the breathtaking sceneries that would add beauty to the films. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan also was partially shot in the mesmerizing valley of Kashmir. Another movie, which was recently shot here, was the Vishal Bhardwaj film Haider. Coming to the current year, the audience will see Kashmir everywhere in the films releasing this year as well, especially those made under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. banner. The Sajid Nadiadwala presentation Highway, which is a road film releases on 21st February this year. A few scenes from this movie also have been shot in Kashmir and other five north Indian states.
Sajid Nadiadwala is producing more four movies this year, out of which, two are being shot in Kashmir. One of them is the action drama Heropanti that stars debutant Tiger Shroff opposite model turned actor Kriti Sanon. This film is currently being short in Mumbai, but would shift its location to Kashmir for filming a song sequence. Along with it Sajid is taking his action thriller to Kashmir, which Kabir Khan is directing. Phantom is a full-fledged action film that the producer is making for the first time. He is new to the action genre. However, with Kabir as a support, he did not mind taking the plunge. Coincidentally, both Heropanti and Phantom will be shot in Kashmir, that too at the same time. It is a 10 days schedule in Kashmir for the two movies. While, Heropanti is slated to release on 16th May this year, the release date for Phantom has been recently declared as 2nd October, which is Gandhi Jayanti!
