Based on the character Alia is playing, which has been named as Veera in Highway, the second song also has been released. Maahi Ve again describes the free spirit of Veera after Patakha Guddi, which was the first song of the movie composed by A.R. Rahman. This time Rahman sir has sung this romantic number himself. Sajid Nadiadwala and Imtiaz Ali are excited about the fact that the musician took the initiative to sing the song himself. Paying homage to Rahman Imtiaz said, “‘Maahi ve’ is coming more from Rahman sir than from Irshad or me. This is one of the songs that Rahman sir makes and one wonders how does he get the soul of the story so beautifully. ‘Maahi ve’ was not a part of the original brief, but I cannot imagine the film or the album of ‘Highway’ without it.”

Irshad Kamil has penned down the lyrics for both the songs Patakha Guddi and Maahi Ve. The second song is more about the circumstances created, which bring Randeep and Alia closer to each other in the film. This Sajid Nadiadwala presentation Highway will release on 21st February this year!
