You must have seen the sultry and young newcomer Alia Bhatt in her debut film ‘Student Of The Year’, which was made by film maker Karan Johar. Her role in the film was so glamorous that even girls could not stop themselves from ogling at her. The costumes and look that she had donned in the movie became a style statement for the girls of this generation. However, the same Alia Bhatt has gone completely de-glam for her upcoming film Highway, which has been written, directed, as well as produced by Imtiaz Ali. Film producer Sajid Nadiadwala is presenting the movie worldwide in association with the satellite partner UTV Motion Pictures. The actress will be seen playing the role of a city slicker, who gets kidnapped by an abductor and also the male lead of the film Randeep Hooda. Randeep is playing a very serious as well as interesting role in Highway, which has been kept under wraps.
The movie is about these two characters and their journey together through six different states of North India. The movie has been shot on roads and highways of these states under worst conditions. Keeping in mind that Alia plays the captive her look has been maintained throughout the film, which is much rugged and simple. Her dressing in Highway gives a much realistic feel to the character she is playing. And, behind this very subtle and appealing look is the designer Aki Narula. Aki is completely responsible for the tattered Alia Bhatt look in Sajid Nadiadwala’s road film Highway. He has played with fabrics and colours so well that the actor’s look says it all. From wearing a track pant and t-shirt, when Veera Tripathi (Alia Bhatt) gets kidnapped to donning oversized boys outfits, the leading lady’s costumes have been beautifully worked upon by Aki Narula.
While the first two songs from the film are already out, this Sajid Nadiadwala presentation Highway releases on 21st February this year!
