Highway is a road film, created and directed by Imtiaz Ali that is shot in 6 different states across North India. The movie was shot in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir. The cast of the film includes the young and beautiful Alia Bhatt and the intense Randeep Hooda. This Sajid Nadiadwala film is going to release on the February 21 2014. The actors and the director were recently in Koklata to promote their film. They shared with their fans, their most memorable moments of all the different states that they have shot in.
Randeep, who plays the character of Mahaveer in the film, says that for him the journey started in Haryana and not Delhi, unlike Alia. He says the initial memory of the movie for him was when he was working with a voice coach to grasp the Gujjar accent. He had to work very hard to get their way of speaking right. In Rajasthan, when the crew celebrated Alia Bhatt’s birthday, Randeep gifted her a book on acting. This book is very special for Randeep as it was gifted to him by the veteran actor Naseerudin Shah. He said that Alia has found a very special place in his heart, that no other co star ever did as she brings out a certain innocence within him. Punjab was the next destination for the shooting of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Highway.
When in Punjab, Randeep went to witness the change of guards at the Firozpur border and found it really emotional to see how two countries are separated just by this one line drawn by a human. He even drove a tanker during his visit to the town. The next state was Himachal Pradesh, where the cast was greeted by a woman with a garland made out of nuts. Randeep ate half his garland during the shooting that went on till the end of the day. When the crew moved to Kashmir, Randeep was actually mesmerized by the beauty and said that he believes Kashmir is truly a paradise. This is how he describes his journey of Highway, which is being presented worldwide by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
