Jacqueline Fernandez, the Sri Lankan beauty who already got kicked out of the Temptations tour to Malaysia this year because of a date dilemma, seems to be in the same situation again. She was replaced by actress Bipasha Basu for the tour as the same dates were allotted to shoot for the Sajid Nadiadwala directorial debut Kick. Being cast opposite Salman Khan under a big banner like Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Jacqueline chose Kick over the Temptations tour. However, this time it is another movie that too opposite Ranbir Kapoor, which seems to have put the leading lady of Kick in trouble. The actress is doing a film named Roy with Ranbir, shooting for which has been getting delayed ever since the Salman Khan starrer Kick’s schedule went tipsy. As per a source “Ranbir has to shoot for around 20 days for Roy. He had allotted the dates to Vikram, and they were in sync with Jacqueline’s. But Kick’s schedule has gone haywire and is now eating into these dates. That created some amount of panic since it is not easy getting RK’s dates.”
Wishing to solve the same issue, Vikram met producer Bhushan Kumar to discuss on the matter. The source added, “They were even contemplating a replacement for Jacqueline.” However, Vikram wants to give Jacqueline a chance and wait till she winds up shooting with Salman Khan for Kick. Commenting on this decision, a source said, “But Salman is a moody star and there is a possibility that Roy will have to wait till June for Jacqueline. That is cutting it a little too fine since the film’s release is scheduled for September.” Hesitant over revealing any more details about the meeting, Vikram only said, “Jacqueline will be a part of the film. I am having a meeting with Kick’s producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala and I am sure we will sort this out amicably.” So let us just wait and watch whether Jacqueline Fernandez loses out on Roy as well or manages to stick back!
Born on 2nd March 1990, is the suave star kid Tiger Shroff, who finally enters the film industry with his upcoming movie Heropanti. His father Jackie Shroff’s friend and ace film producer of Bollywood Sajid Nadiadwala is producing the project, which is a mixture of power-packed action, drama, and romance. Tiger will be debuting in Heropanti opposite south actor and model Kriti Sanon, who have recently completed shooting for this movie in the beautiful Kashmir Valley. Shooting for Heropanti is still in progress and the young actor continued to shoot despite of his birthday yesterday. He did not celebrate his birthday, not because he was busy shooting for Heropanti, but because the 24 year old does not believe in celebrating his birthday.
Giving an explanation about the same Tiger Shroff said, “I don’t have birthday plans. I don’t celebrate it. I just don’t like celebrating my birthday.” This means that the Sajid Nadiadwala produced Heropanti was not a reason for Tiger not celebrating his birthday. Adding on to the conversation the actor said, “According to me, it is not a great accomplishment to become a year older. On the contrary, I am reminded that I have lost one year of my precious life. What is there to celebrate?” Tell him that usually people are excited about their birthdays, to which he replied, “In that case I guess I am not normal. I did all my normal stuff on my birthday, like physical training, dancing, stunts practice and going to the gym.” Confirming Tiger’s disinterest for celebrating his birthday, Ayesha Shroff (Tiger’s mother) said, “Tiger was working on his birthday. And he doesn’t believe in celebrating birthdays. So I gave him a jar of his favourite peanut butter. He has earned himself that treat.”
The shooting for the film is almost at the verge of getting over. Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala will release Heropanti on the 16th of May this year!
The trailer of Sajid Nadiadwala’s production 2 States was released on the 28th of February 2014 at an event held at PVR Cinemas in Juhu, Mumbai. The lead pair, Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor, was present at the launch along with their director Abhishek Varman. Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, the co-producers of the film, represented their respective banners Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The trailer created a lot of buzz at the launch and even on the internet. All the journalists were very excited about the chemistry between the two actors that was evident in the trailer. The promo, which was also launched across the internet at 12:00 pm on Friday, received more than 12,64,863 views before the day ended. The reason for this could be the positive reviews the trailer has received, the chemistry between Alia and Arjun, or even the kiss that they share.
Commenting on the kiss that has created a lot of buzz and spiked some rumors about the lead pair, Karan Johar said “The display of emotion has become bold. It’s great that the new generation is kissing on screen. I like to watch kissing scenes, it’s wonderful. And people also like to see it, so it’s all about kissing.” He said unlike the senior actors, the new ones are more open to kissing on screen and the young audience is also receptive towards such scenes in the movies. Karan Johar also thanked Sajid Nadiadwala for collaborating with Dharma Productions to make this movie. Sajid had bought the rights of Chetan Bhagat’s novel 2 States and had been wanting to make a screen adaptation of the book since many years. He had spoken to many actors before Karan approached him with the idea to sign Arjun Kapoor. Sajid then decided to co-produce the film with Dharma productions. “This book has had a strange journey. When Karan came to me saying that let’s make it with Arjun, I fell down from the chair and then when we started making the film and after several stages, after the final output, I thought Karan was right and I am proud of him and the moment when I said yes!” said Sajid.
Imtiaz Ali did not make Highway with an intension of making money. He and the entire cast and crew knew that the film is not going to have blockbuster collections at the box office. The film has however done better than they expected. Sajid Nadiadwala’s Highway was made on a budget of 18.25 crore. Even before the film was released, it earned Rs. 15.50 crore. In the first week of its release, Highway’s box office collections were recorded as Rs. 22.38 crores. The cast is hoping that the turnout for the film will increase in the coming days because of the word of mouth publicity the film is receiving.
This movie was Imtiaz’s attempt to have more creative freedom to make the movies that he wants to. “With ‘Highway’ I was trying to plant a seed. How else do you create an elbow room for yourself? I want to direct what I feel is interesting not what is supposed to be my zone. I don’t want it to be narrow. It was a huge risk as I was into completely uncharted territory but luckily it paid off,” he said. He even told Sajid Nadiadwala, who has presented the movie worldwide under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd, that he would that he will abandon the project midway if the story did not come together as it was an open script. “I took money from Sajid bhai hoping that I will manage to return it and if I don’t, I will pay him by working. I have always tried to make profitable films because people’s offices shut down if films fail and I will do everything to avoid that. This is why I wanted ‘Highway’ to be my risk alone,” says Imtiaz.
Since the release of this Sajid Nadiadwala movie on the 21st of February 2014, Imtiaz has been touring different cities and visiting cinema halls to gauge the audience response. He said, “The audience has responded and connected with the story on an emotional level with both Alia and Randeep’s characters. It is very important to have honest feedback and that comes directly from those who have just watched your film. This is why I have been travelling even now.”

They visit sets of TV reality shows, daily soaps, and other events to create awareness about their upcoming project amongst the audience. However, you might have not heard about co-actors getting engaged just to promote their film. This is actually happening and the leading lady of the movie 2 States, Alia Bhatt has sent out a public invite for her engagement ceremony with Arjun Kapoor. Directed by newbie Abhishek Varman, 2 States will be released on 18th April this year by producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar!
Sajid Nadiadwala is a well-known film producer and the owner of the banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd. He has been associated with Bollywood entertainers like Judwa, Heyy Baby, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Highway and many more. He has been a part of the industry for 2 decades and has made a lot of friends. One of Sajid’s very close friends is superstar Salman Khan. The two have been friends ever since they worked together for the very first time in Judwa. Sajid was the producer of the film while Salman was seen in a double role. The two have worked together in 4 films since. These are Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Jeet and Jaanemann.
Sajid and Salman will be working together after 8 years, Janemann being their last film together in 2006, in the movie Kick. Sajid Nadiadwala is remaking a south Indian film with the same name, which released in May 2009. Ever since the film released, Sajid had shown interest in making the film in Hindi. This film has already been made in Tamil and its hindi remake Kick is going to release on the 25th of July 2014. When Sajid Nadiadwala could not find a suitable director to direct this movie, he decided to take matters in his own hand. Yes! Sajid is directing the movie too. This has a lot to do with Salman Khan. Apparently Salman has been trying to convince his good friend for many years to become a director, but his efforts were in vain. Finally, Sajid agreed to his friend’s suggestion and decided to direct Kick.
Their friendship is such that the actor does not even need to read the script that Sajid Nadiadwala offers him. He simply hears the story and signs the movie. He trusts Sajid’s sense of judgment and believes if Sajid feels he is suitable for a certain role, he does not need to challenge that. Sajid also has similar belief in Salman. He said “Salman has signed 80% of my films without reading the script, and almost all our films have done well.”
